A compact manual winch for pulling a compatible boat onto a correctly set-up trailer. It uses a 6 m strap and 4:1 gear ratio; selection must account for trailer slope, rolling resistance and mounting geometry rather than boat weight alone.

Compatibility / Fitment Guide

The correct winch is determined by the real line pull required, trailer design, mounting pattern and strap alignment. A free-rolling boat on a shallow roller trailer needs less pull than the same boat on bunks, a steep ramp or seized rollers.

Capacity Calculate required line pull with margin for ramp gradient, bunk/roller friction and recovery conditions. Do not equate the 450 kg pull rating directly with hull displacement.
Mounting plate Compare the winch base-hole pattern and available post area before drilling. Use correctly graded bolts, large washers/locking nuts and a structurally sound winch post.
Strap alignment The strap must run straight to the bow eye without rubbing the post, fairlead, hull or trailer. At the fully retrieved position, retain the minimum drum wraps required by the winch/strap instructions.
Strap reach 6 m must reach the launch/recovery position without winding out to the attachment point. Do not splice, knot or extend the webbing.
Securing the boat The winch and strap are for retrieval, not the sole road restraint. Fit an independent bow safety chain and the required transom/tie-down restraints.
Not suitable for Lifting, suspending loads, personnel handling, vehicle recovery, mooring, or holding a boat where failure could cause uncontrolled movement.
