Attwood Tsunami MK2 non-automatic bilge pump – 12V, 1200GPH
A high-flow submersible cartridge bilge pump for manually controlled or externally automated drainage systems. The MK2 X-Air impeller helps clear trapped air, while the rotatable outlet and serviceable cartridge simplify installation and maintenance.
Suitable applications: 12V powerboats, sailing boats, RIBs, fishing craft and livewell-transfer systems requiring a compact 1200GPH pump.

Boat compatibility and system design
- Suitable for 12V bilge drainage or livewell circulation where the liquid and installation meet Attwood requirements.
- Requires a separate manual switch, automatic float switch or bilge controller; none is built into this model.
- The mounting footprint is designed to simplify replacement of compatible earlier Tsunami MK1/T1200 installations, but holes, hose and wiring must still be checked.
- Choose hose matching the selected outlet diameter and confirm the through-hull can pass the installed flow.
- Not for fuel, oil, sewage, drinking water or continuous dry operation.
Important: nominal flow is measured under low-restriction test conditions. Installed output reduces with vertical lift, hose length, small-bore pipe, bends and fittings.
Installation, checks and package contents
- Mount the strainer base at the lowest accessible part of the bilge, clear of debris and without drilling into the hull.
- Use smooth-bore reinforced hose, minimise lift and bends and fit a vented loop where siphoning is possible.
- Connect with tinned marine cable, a 5A fuse and a switch/controller rated for the motor load.
- Test both manual and automatic modes after installation and inspect the strainer regularly.
- Attwood reference 5612-7; compare earlier 4612/T1200 installations before treating it as a direct replacement.
Package contents: one new genuine Attwood Tsunami MK2 1200GPH pump in the supplier's stated packaging; external switch, fuse holder, hose and through-hull are separate.
Frequently asked questions
Is this pump automatic?
No. It needs a separate float switch or bilge controller for automatic operation.
Can it replace an older Tsunami T1200?
It is designed for straightforward MK1 replacement, but confirm the screw footprint, outlet, hose and wiring before purchase.
Will it deliver 1200GPH in the boat?
Not normally. Lift and plumbing resistance reduce real installed flow.
Can it run without water?
It may tolerate brief service conditions, but it should not be used for continuous dry operation.
Safety: use marine-grade tinned cable, correctly rated over-current protection and watertight connections. Installation must follow the vessel and pump manufacturers' instructions.
