Talamex WT73-14 manual trailer winch with 6m webbing

A zinc-plated single-speed hand winch supplied with a 6m webbing strap and hook. Its 4:1 gearing and bidirectional ratchet are intended for controlled horizontal pulling on compatible small and medium boat trailers.

Suitable for: drawing an appropriately sized boat onto a correctly aligned trailer where rolling resistance and slope remain within the winch and trailer design.

Selection and compatibility

• The 636kg pulling-force rating is not automatically the maximum boat weight; slope, rollers/bunks, friction and alignment change the required force.
• Confirm winch-post mounting dimensions, handle clearance, bow-eye alignment and strap travel.
• Use only on a trailer with an independent bow safety strap/chain and correctly rated tie-downs.
• This unbraked model is not suitable where controlled load lowering requires a brake winch.
• Not for lifting, suspending people, overhead loads, mooring or securing a boat during road travel.

Installation, operation and package

• Bolt to a structurally sound winch post using correctly rated fasteners.
• Align the drum/webbing directly with the bow eye to prevent side loading.
• Inspect strap, stitching, hook, ratchet, gears, handle and mounting before every launch/recovery.
• Keep hands clear, engage the ratchet correctly and never stand in line with a loaded strap.
• Rinse after saltwater use, lubricate only as directed and replace damaged webbing immediately.
