Frequently Asked Questions
Will this cure a no-spark fault?
Only if testing identifies the switch box as faulty. Stator, trigger, stop circuit, coils and grounds can cause similar symptoms.
Does it fit every three- or six-cylinder Mercury?
No. OEM number, serial range and connector layout must match.
Can two different switch boxes be mixed on a V6?
Do not mix mismatched boxes; follow the engine service manual and replace as a matched specification where required.
Is it returnable after installation?
Electrical components are generally difficult to accept back once fitted; confirm fitment and diagnosis before connecting it.
Installation note: Disconnect the battery, label every lead, clean grounds and transfer one wire at a time. Never use an automotive test light on CDI circuits; use the manufacturer's specified DVA/ohm test procedure.
