Application: installations without a usable engine tilt tube or transom support, where the steering cable must be anchored to the splashwell and connected to the engine through a suitable link arm.
Geometry: the mounting face must be strong, flat and correctly oriented so the cable operates in line with the engine tiller. Industry guidance for this mount style commonly places the cable support approximately 12–16 inches from the boat centreline; verify the Multiflex installation drawing and actual engine travel before drilling.
Limits: confirm the steering-system power/load rating, splashwell width, cable stroke and full engine trim/tilt clearance. Do not use cracked, thin or unsupported laminate as the mounting structure.
