SEAFLO 14C low-profile bilge pump — what it is used for

A narrow, submersible 24V DC, 800 GPH non-automatic bilge pump for removing nuisance water from shallow or awkward bilge spaces. Its low horizontal profile, rotating pump body and 360-degree adjustable discharge make it useful where a conventional upright pump cannot be positioned. It drains the bilge down to approximately 10 mm when correctly installed.

Important: this model does not sense water. It must be controlled by a manual panel switch or a separate float/electronic bilge switch.

Suitable boats and installation scenarios

  • 24V motorboats and motor yachts with a narrow engine-space, lazarette or keel bilge.
  • Sailing yachts with deep but restricted bilge access.
  • Workboats, fishing boats and larger RIBs using a 24V DC electrical system.
  • Useful as a primary nuisance-water pump in a suitable installation or as an additional pump in a multi-pump bilge arrangement.
  • Not selected by boat length alone: required capacity depends on bilge volume, hose run, vertical lift, through-hull height and the vessel's safety plan.

Check before ordering and installing

  • Confirm the boat is 24V DC. Do not connect this 24V model to a 12V system.
  • Match the hose bore to the selected outlet and keep the discharge run as short, smooth and rise-only as practical; real flow is lower than the open-flow rating once head and hose resistance are added.
  • Install a correctly rated fuse, marine cable and switch/float switch in accordance with the vessel wiring plan and manufacturer instructions.
  • Position the outlet above the loaded waterline and use an anti-siphon arrangement where the plumbing layout requires it.
  • Keep the strainer accessible for cleaning. Test manual and automatic control functions regularly.
  • Package: SEAFLO 14C pump with the manufacturer-listed outlet options/check valve. Hose, panel switch, float switch, fuse holder and through-hull fitting are installation items.

Frequently asked questions

Does it start automatically when water rises?

No. It is the non-automatic 14C version and requires either a manual switch or a separate water-level switch.

Can it be used on a 12V boat?

No. This pump is rated for 24V DC only. Choose the correct 12V version for a 12V electrical system.

Is 800 GPH the flow I will get through the installed hose?

800 GPH is the open-flow rating. Vertical lift, hose length, bends, valves and outlet restriction reduce installed flow.

Is it suitable as the vessel's only emergency dewatering pump?

Pump selection is vessel-specific. Do not rely on capacity alone; assess bilge volume, redundancy, power supply, alarm and applicable safety requirements.
