Automatic high-capacity bilge drainage

A compact 12V submersible pump for automatic removal of bilge water on motorboats, sailing yachts, RIBs, fishing boats and workboats. The 13B electronic-sensing system checks for water every 2.5 minutes, runs for approximately half a second and continues pumping when impeller resistance indicates water is present. No separate float switch is required.

Applications and compatibility

  • Suitable as an automatic bilge pump in 12V DC installations where 1500GPH nominal capacity matches the vessel’s drainage plan.
  • Appropriate for leisure and commercial craft including powerboats, yachts, RIBs, fishing boats and small workboats.
  • Not a substitute for a correctly sized primary/secondary emergency bilge arrangement on larger vessels.
  • Flow reduces with lift, hose length, bends and restrictions; size the hose, fuse and wiring for the installed load.

Installation and package contents

  • Mount at the lowest practical point of the bilge on a clean, level surface with access for strainer cleaning.
  • Route the discharge continuously upward to a suitable above-waterline outlet and avoid low loops that can trap water.
  • Connect only to a protected 12V DC marine circuit using the fuse and cable size specified in the installation manual.
  • Package contains one SEAFLO 13B automatic bilge pump with strainer/base, removable outlet fitting and integrated wiring. Verify hose connection and available space against the installation drawing before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need a separate float switch?

No. It uses periodic electronic sensing and checks for water every 2.5 minutes.

Will it draw power while the boat is unattended?

Yes. The brief periodic test cycle creates a small recurring battery load, so battery condition and isolation strategy must be considered.

Is 1500GPH the flow at every installation?

No. It is the nominal open-flow rating; real output falls as head height and hose resistance increase.

Can it be used on a 24V boat?

Not directly. This is the 12V version; use the corresponding 24V model for a 24V supply.
