Questions & Answers
Is this a genuine original part?
This part is sourced as a high-quality replacement or OEM equivalent manufactured to meet original Tohatsu specifications for fitment and tension.
How do I know if it is compatible?
It fits the Tohatsu M2.5 (2.5 HP 2-stroke) and Tohatsu 3.3 HP and 3.5 HP models. To be sure, check the part number 307-05012-0 on your old spring, or send us your engine model and serial number and we will confirm fitment.
Will this fix a starter rope that stays pulled out?
Yes, if your starter rope fails to retract, the return spring is usually the cause of failure. Replacing this spring restores the tension needed to pull the rope back into the housing.
