Helm, Bezel & 3.05m Cable – Outboards up to 150HP

A complete Multiflex packaged mechanical steering system for single-outboard boats rated up to 150HP. The kit pairs a rotary helm and matching dash bezel with a 10ft (3.05m) SC-16 series push-pull steering cable, giving you everything needed to replace a worn system or fit new steering from the console to the engine tilt tube – no hydraulics, no fluid, no bleeding. Steering wheel not included.

RELIABILITY: Multiflex helm and cable are supplied together as a matched set, so the components are designed to work with each other straight out of the box.

Questions & Answers

Is a steering wheel included?

No. The kit contains the helm, bezel and cable. A steering wheel is sold separately – if you need one, choose the version of this kit supplied with a wheel.

How do I choose the right cable length?

Measure from the centre of the helm, along the planned cable route, to the centre of the engine at the transom, then add the allowance given in the steering manufacturer’s guide. Choose the 10ft kit only if your measured route calls for a 10ft cable – a cable that is too short or too long will strain the steering.

Can I use it on an engine above 150HP?

No. This kit is rated for single outboards up to 150HP. Higher-powered engines require hydraulic steering.

Who should install it?

Steering is safety-critical. Installation and a full lock-to-lock function check should be carried out by a competent marine technician.
