Lalizas LifeLink White Man-Overboard Rescue Sling with 36 m Floating Line

A pushpit-mounted recovery system that helps a yacht or motorboat bring a conscious man-overboard casualty alongside without requiring a crew member to enter the water. The long floating line allows the boat to circle the casualty and tow the buoyant sling into reach.

Suitable Boats and Applications

  • Sailing yachts with a secure pushpit or stern rail.
  • Motorboats, workboats and training craft with a suitable stern mounting point.
  • Coastal and offshore MOB recovery plans where a floating retrieval loop is required.
  • Training exercises conducted under a competent skipper or instructor.

Before purchase, confirm that the rail, chosen strong point and vessel layout allow the bag and line to deploy without fouling propellers, steering gear, liferafts or other deck equipment.

Deployment Sequence

  1. Raise the MOB alarm, mark the position and follow the vessel’s recovery procedure.
  2. Remove the LifeLink from its bag and attach the inboard end of the floating line to a secure vessel strong point.
  3. Throw the sling and line astern, keeping them clear of the propeller.
  4. Circle the casualty so the floating line and sling are brought within reach.
  5. The casualty places the buoyant sling securely around the body and uses the retaining clip.
  6. Recover the casualty to the vessel and use the vessel’s approved boarding or lifting arrangement as required.

Technical Specifications

Floating-line length 36 m
Line breaking strain Greater than 200 kg
Flotation-belt breaking strain Greater than 700 kg

Important: published breaking strains are not certified safe working loads. Do not treat the line or sling as general lifting gear, fall-arrest equipment or a substitute for an approved recovery hoist.

Mounting and Maintenance

Mount the bag on a secure, rapidly accessible pushpit or stern rail. The closure must be reachable by the helm or recovery crew, and the floating line must run freely without knots, chafe points or obstructions.

Rinse with fresh water after drills or salt-water exposure, dry fully before repacking and inspect the line, stitching, webbing, buoyant sling, retaining clip and bag. Replace any component showing UV degradation, cuts, contamination or damaged stitching.

What’s Included

  • White buoyant Lalizas LifeLink rescue sling with webbing strap
  • 36 m floating retrieval line
  • Personal retaining clip
  • Rail-mountable, easy-clean PVC stowage bag

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a rescuer have to enter the water?
The system is intended to bring the sling to the casualty from the vessel, helping avoid putting a second person in the water.

Why does the boat circle the casualty?
The manoeuvre lays the floating line around the casualty so the sling can be drawn within reach. It must be performed at safe speed with the propeller controlled under the skipper’s MOB procedure.

Can the line be tied to any rail?
No. Attach it only to a secure vessel strong point suitable for the recovery loads and confirmed by the operator or boat manufacturer.

Can the sling lift a casualty vertically?
The system supports retrieval and connection, but the final boarding or lifting method must be suitable for the casualty and vessel. Its breaking-strain figures are not a declared safe working load.

Is this the yellow version?
No. Product 73670 is the white LifeLink version with the 36 m line.

Should it be practised?
Yes. Controlled MOB drills help the crew learn deployment, circling, line handling and repacking without risking an operational emergency.

For the products under £150 the shipping is £6.99.
