Unlike standard snaps, the Lift-The-DOT system is engineered to lock on three sides, ensuring it will not pull apart under high wind tension. It can only be released by lifting the specific edge marked with the trademark "DOT".

MARINE PROTECTION: Constructed from nickel-plated brass with a stainless steel screw thread to provide maximum resistance against saltwater corrosion and oxidation.

How do I know if it is compatible?

If you are replacing an existing "Lift-The-DOT" snap, these are standard size and will fit perfectly. Ensure your mounting surface (wood/fiberglass) can accommodate a 3/8" screw depth.

Why does the snap only open from one side?

This is a safety feature called "directional locking." It ensures that tension from the canvas (e.g., wind pulling on a boat cover) actually tightens the grip rather than popping it open. It must be lifted at the "dot" to release.
