Questions & Answers
Is this a genuine original Bruce anchor?
This is a premium "Bruce Type" or "Claw" anchor. The original Bruce patent has expired, allowing for high-quality aftermarket manufacturers to produce the same design to current marine safety standards.
Will this fit my standard bow roller?
The Bruce style is one of the most popular for bow roller storage. However, due to its 35kg size and 550mm width, we recommend checking your roller clearance for a claw-style shank before purchase.
What seabed is this anchor best for?
It is a true all-rounder, performing exceptionally well in sand and mud. It is also one of the few anchors that can reliably hook into rock and coral crevasses, though it is slightly less effective in very hard clay.
Note: Always ensure you use the correct grade and length of chain for your vessel's weight to ensure the anchor reaches its maximum holding potential. For further fitment advice, contact the team at 4boats.co.uk.
