Lalizas VITA 120N Manual Inflatable Lifejacket – Adult

An ultra-lightweight, compact lifejacket developed for adult passengers on tourist boats, short-distance ferries, rental boats and civil transport vessels operating in protected coastal waters. Manual activation lets the wearer control when the lifejacket inflates.

Correct Use and Limitations

  • Suitable for protected coastal waters and inshore passenger operations.
  • Ideal where compact bulk storage and low wearer weight are important.
  • Manual activation is useful where unwanted water-triggered inflation must be avoided.
  • Not intended for offshore passages, severe weather or professional environments that require a lifejacket above 150N.
  • Manual models will not inflate merely because the wearer enters the water; the pull handle must be operated.

Safety Features

  • 120N rated buoyancy with a high-visibility yellow inflatable chamber.
  • Manual CO₂ inflation system with accessible pull handle.
  • Oral inflation tube with certified non-return valve for topping up or emergency inflation.
  • SOLAS retroreflective tape for improved visibility in searchlights.
  • Lalizas whistle secured to the lifejacket.
  • Plastic waist buckle for quick fastening and release.
  • Compact, cover-free design supplied in a transparent vacuum pack.

Before Use, Inspection and Servicing

Check that the vacuum pack is intact, the service/manufacture information remains valid and the correct lifejacket is assigned to the intended wearer. Do not use a pack showing punctures, loss of vacuum, moisture, chemical contamination or other damage.

Lalizas states that an undamaged pack stored under the specified conditions should be serviced at 10 years from the manufacture date. Earlier inspection or servicing may be required after damage, suspected activation, poor storage or under the operator’s safety-management rules.

After any inflation, the lifejacket must be inspected, fully deflated and re-armed with the exact compatible Lalizas components before returning to service. Follow the supplied manual and applicable vessel procedures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it inflate automatically if I fall overboard?
No. This is the manual VITA model. The wearer must pull the inflation handle, or use the oral tube if required.

Is it suitable for offshore sailing?
No. Lalizas specifies the VITA 120N for protected coastal waters and advises a higher-buoyancy lifejacket for offshore, severe-weather or professional use.

Can it be worn all day?
Its low weight and compact format reduce bulk, but fit must be checked and the waist belt correctly adjusted each time it is worn.

Should I open the vacuum pack to inspect it?
Do not break an intact sealed pack without following the operator’s inspection and servicing procedure. Inspect the pack externally and follow Lalizas guidance for scheduled service.

Can I fit any replacement gas cylinder?
No. Use only the exact compatible re-arming parts specified by Lalizas for this model. The cylinder and activation mechanism must be checked together.

Is 120N the actual buoyancy of every 100N-class product?
The VITA is marketed as a 120N model and is certified to its stated ISO standards. Select lifejackets by the certified application, wearer and operating environment, not by comparing one number alone.
