Questions & Answers
Is this a genuine original part?
This is a premium quality aftermarket replacement part, manufactured to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) standards for fitment and performance.
How do I know if I have Gen I or Gen II controls?
Gen I cables have a large plastic "barrel" stopper (approx 1-1/8" long) at the control box end. Gen II cables (introduced in the mid-90s) use a different slotted connection. If your original part number matches 8M0082487, it is definitely a Gen I cable.
What happens if the cable is too long?
Excess cable can be looped in large, sweeping circles (minimum 8" radius). Avoid tight or sharp bends, as these will cause stiffness and premature failure of the internal core liner.
