Mercury / Mariner 11 1/8 x 13 Propeller

3-blade aluminium | 13-spline | Right-hand rotation

A black aluminium, three-blade aftermarket propeller measuring 11 1/8 inches in diameter with 13 inches of pitch. It is built for compatible Mercury and Mariner outboards using the 3-1/4-inch gearcase, 13-spline propeller shaft and right-hand rotation associated with reference 48-855858A5.

VERIFY BEFORE ORDERING: All four interface points must match: 3-1/4-inch gearcase, 13 splines, right-hand rotation and adequate clearance for an 11 1/8-inch diameter propeller. Pitch must also suit the boat and engine operating RPM.

Key Features

  • 11 1/8 x 13 geometry: 11.125-inch diameter and 13-inch pitch.
  • 13-spline hub: For the specified Mercury/Mariner small-gearcase prop shaft.
  • Three aluminium blades: Practical replacement for a damaged or worn propeller.
  • Right-hand rotation: Standard RH configuration.
  • Aftermarket replacement: Cross-referenced to Mercury 48-855858A5; not supplied as a genuine Mercury/Quicksilver propeller.

Compatibility / Fitment Guide

Physical interface: Mercury / Mariner outboards using a 3-1/4-inch gearcase and 13-spline propeller shaft. Commonly catalogued engine families include:

Engine family Application notes
25–30HP BigFoot / Command Thrust Selected 25HP and 30HP models with the larger 3-1/4-inch gearcase; standard small-gearcase versions can differ.
Mercury / Mariner 40, 45, 48, 50, 55 and 60HP Selected two- and four-stroke models using the 13-spline 3-1/4-inch gearcase. BigFoot/Command Thrust exceptions must be checked.
Mercury 70HP Selected older 70HP / Model 700 applications only; later gearcases may use a different propeller family.

Pitch selection: A propeller can physically fit yet be the wrong pitch. Compare the existing propeller stamp and confirm that the engine reaches the manufacturer's recommended wide-open-throttle RPM with the normal boat load.

Important exclusion: Mercury/Quicksilver 48-73136A45 is a 10 3/8 x 13 propeller and is therefore not presented here as an exact dimensional cross-reference for this 11 1/8 x 13 product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a genuine Mercury propeller?
No. It is an aftermarket aluminium replacement.

Will it fit every Mercury or Mariner 25–70HP outboard?
No. Confirm the 3-1/4-inch gearcase, 13-spline shaft, RH rotation, diameter clearance and engine model/serial.

What do 11 1/8 x 13 mean?
The first figure is nominal diameter in inches; the second is pitch in inches.

Can I reuse my existing propeller hardware?
The propeller is supplied as shown. Verify the required thrust washer, spacer, tab washer and nut for the exact gearcase before installation.

How do I confirm the pitch is correct?
Compare the old propeller marking, boat load and engine manufacturer's target WOT RPM. A dealer or propeller specialist should confirm if the existing setup is unknown.

Inspect the propeller shaft and hardware before fitting. Tighten the propeller nut and secure it exactly as specified in the engine service manual; recheck after initial use.
