Is this a genuine original part?

This is a premium quality aftermarket safety guard from PropGuard, manufactured to exceed original specifications for impact resistance and safety.

How do I know if it is compatible?

This 13" model fits standard 40-65 HP gearcases. Measure your propeller diameter; if it is 12.5" or less and you have a 40-65 HP engine (non-BigFoot), this is the correct size. If your motor has a "Big Foot" or "High Thrust" gearcase, you will require the 14" model.

Will this affect my boat's top speed?

Propeller guards are designed for safety and efficiency at low-to-moderate speeds (up to 25 MPH). You may notice a slight decrease in top-end speed, but you will typically see improved acceleration and handling.

Note: Professional installation is recommended as drilling into the cavitation plate and skeg is required. Please verify clearances before mounting at 4boats.co.uk.
