Starter motor for Mercury Sport Jet 175, 210 and 240

A 12V replacement starter for selected Mercury 2.5L V6 Sport Jet and M2 jet-drive engines. It uses counter-clockwise rotation, a permanent-magnet direct-drive layout and an 8-tooth pinion.

Best used for: starting-system repair on compatible jet boats and sport craft powered by the listed Mercury 2.5L V6 Sport Jet or M2 jet-drive engines.

Not a universal starter for all Mercury V6 outboards; Sport Jet powerhead, flywheel and starter configuration must match.

Compatibility rule: verify the complete engine model and serial range, original OEM number, voltage, rotation, pinion teeth/diameter, mounting and terminal layout. Horsepower alone is not sufficient.
