This in-line non-return (check) valve is a useful part for marine plumbing systems. It fits either 25.4mm (1") or 38.1mm (1.5") hose and lets water flow in one direction only, helping to stop water running back into the bilge and keeping pumps primed.

Which way round does it fit?

Install the valve so that it allows flow in the direction of discharge, away from the pump.
