A single-pole, four-position marine battery selector for controlling two battery banks. Attwood 14230-3 provides OFF, Battery 1, Battery 2 and BOTH modes and includes an alternator-field disconnect circuit intended to reduce damaging switching surges when correctly wired.

Electrical compatibility: For two-battery-bank DC systems between 6V and 32V when cable size, overcurrent protection, starter current and charging arrangement are within the published switch limits.

Is this a 250A continuous switch?
The researched Attwood specification is 300A continuous at 6V and 150A continuous at 12V; the old 250A title has been removed.
Can it control two batteries?
Yes. It selects Bank 1, Bank 2, both banks in parallel, or OFF.
Can I use it on 24V?
The switch is described for 6–32V DC systems, but the permitted current at your voltage and the complete system design must be confirmed before installation.
Can I switch to OFF with the engine running?
Do not do so unless the manufacturer wiring instructions specifically permit it; interrupting an alternator under load can cause damaging voltage spikes.
Disconnect all power before installation. Battery switching involves very high fault currents; cable sizing, fusing, terminal protection and ventilation should be designed or checked by a competent marine electrician.
