Questions & Answers

Is this oil backward compatible with older VW engines?

No. VW 508.00 / 509.00 oils are not backward compatible. They are designed specifically for modern engines engineered for ultra-low viscosity oils. Using this in older engines requiring VW 504.00/507.00 could lead to insufficient lubrication.

Why is this oil often dyed green?

Official VW-approved 508/509 oils are often dyed green to prevent confusion with other specifications in the workshop. Our formulation meets all technical specifications (VW TL 52577) for these engines.

How often should I change this oil?

This is a "Long Life" specification oil, capable of supporting extended drain intervals (up to 18,000 miles or 2 years) if supported by the vehicle's onboard computer and maintenance plan.

Note: Always check your vehicle owner's manual to verify the correct viscosity and specification required for your engine before topping up or performing a full service. For support, contact 4boats.co.uk.

For the products under £150 the shipping is £6.99.
