Is this a genuine original part?

Yes, this is an authentic Scovill DOT® Durable series component, not a generic imitation. It is the same part used by premium boat builders worldwide.

How do I know if it is compatible?

These studs are compatible with all standard DOT Durable sockets (the "female" part of the snap). If your existing fastener has the "DOT" brand or fits a 15mm cap, this stud will fit perfectly.

What tools are required for installation?

For the cloth-to-cloth stud, a standard press-stud setting tool (punch and die) or a Pres-N-Snap tool is required to flare the eyelet over the stud base.

Note: 4Boats (4boats.co.uk) recommends verifying your existing fastener brand. While DOT is compatible with many brands, we recommend using Genuine DOT components for the best fitment.
