A compact, high‑performance inflatable VHF antenna that stows in its bright pouch and deploys quickly by 16 g CO2 cartridge or manual pump for reliable emergency and special‑purpose use.
- Special Purpose Antenna. Ideal for emergency/backup use, kayaks, jet‑skis, inflatables & dinghies.
- Inflates to full 1.5 m (5 ft) to deliver full 3 dB performance and up to three times the range of typical helical emergency aerials.
- Band: VHF marine band. Antenna gain: 3 dB. Max input power: 50 W. SWR: nominally 1.5:1 at 156.8 MHz.
- Bandwidth: 156–162 MHz within 2.0:1 VSWR.
- Mounting: two built‑in 600 mm (2 ft) hook‑and‑loop straps; grommets top and bottom for hanging or securing to masts, spreaders or hard tops.
- Inflation: recommended 16 g threaded CO2 cartridge; inflation retainment >24 hrs per cartridge; also deployable manually.
- Coax supplied: 6 m (20 ft) RG‑174 cable. Connector supplied: PL‑259 pre‑installed, plus SMA adaptor for handhelds and a solder‑free UHF female connector to splice into existing coax cabling on board.
- Polarisation: vertical (omnidirectional). Impedance: 50 Ω. DC ground: DC grounded — passes basic continuity test. Shakespeare limited warranty: 5 years.
