Does this model come with an internal fuel tank?
No, the MFS5DS-S is the "Separate Tank" model. It is designed to run exclusively from an external 12L fuel tank (which is included in the box along with the fuel line). If you require an internal tank, please look for the MFS5DD models.
What engine oil should I use?
We recommend NMMA Certified FC-W® 4-stroke oil (SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40). The oil capacity is 450ml. Note: Engines are shipped dry and must be filled with oil before use.
What is the benefit of the "D" model suffix?
The "D" generation includes the latest engineering updates from Tohatsu, including the front-mounted shift lever (industry first), larger carrying handles, and the ability to store the motor on three different sides without leaking oil.
Note: Please verify your transom height before purchase. This 15" short shaft is designed for standard low-transom boats. For 20" long transoms, the "L" model (MFS5DS-L) is required.
