No. It is a potent acidic cleaner designed for raw metals. Avoid contact with painted, powder-coated, or sensitive plastic surfaces.
How long should I leave the product on the metal?
Depending on the severity of the corrosion, allow it to work for 1 to 5 minutes. Use a stiff brush for heavy rust, but do not allow the gel to dry on the surface before rinsing.
Does it provide a final high-gloss polish?
Rust-Ex is a heavy-duty cleaner/remover. For a show-stopping mirror finish, we recommend following up with Autosol Marine Metal Polish liquid or paste after the rust is removed.
