The Plastimo Iris 50 Blue Z/AB is a shock‑resistant marine and field compass with a prism for no‑parallax readings, dual hand‑bearing and standard modes, and built‑in photoluminescent lighting.
- No parallax error: the prism projects the bearing to infinity for clear prism readings.
- Two functions: hand‑bearing and traditional (top) compass — course can be read from above like a standard compass, no need to look through.
- Graduation: every 1°; card diameter: 81 mm (3.2 in); card colour: white.
- Field of view: 20°; clearance: 12°.
- Built‑in photoluminescent lighting — maintenance‑free (no batteries or radioactive tritium), suitable for night use without electrical supply.
- Soft bottom cell engineered with ultrasonic welding acts as an expansion diaphragm to prevent bubbles and leaks.
- Durable pivot and very hard jewel provide long life and reliable shock resistance for high accuracy.
- Good protection against hard knocks: smooth, soft‑touch finish for better grip and impact protection.
- MILS variants available on special request: Army green (ref. 63873) and Sand (ref. 63603). MILS models (e.g., IRIS 50 MILS ref. 63879) provide direct reading every 400 MIL and prism reading every 200 MIL.
